Introduction.
It’s been a couple of days since Ubisoft revealed the much-anticipated launch trailer for Assassins Creed Valhalla and now, the internet is buzzing with rumors and speculations about the features that the upcoming game has to offer. Fortunately for us and other eagers fans of the Assassins Creed franchise, Ubisoft decided to announce what are the game’s key features.
Transforming into a Full-Blown RPG
The first games in the Assassins Creed franchise are awesome but there is a downside to all of them. The story is linear, the loot doesn’t matter and more importantly, the combat feels boring. This changed two years ago when Assassins Creed Origins launched. The latter showed that Ubisoft is planning to transform all Assassins Creed games into full-blown RPGs and the Valhalla will introduce special elements to help players feel immersed.
Assassins Creed Valhalla’s Unique Weapons System
One of the ways that Ubisoft is catering towards the massive player base who enjoys RPG titles such as the highly successful God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2, and The Witcher 3 is by introducing unique weapons. This means that players can stick with the first sword, or axe in Valhalla’s case, until the end of the game.
The fact that loot is unique and there aren’t different versions of the same axe with more powerful stats is going to make loot more important. This might play an important role in what motivates players to lead Viking raids and conquer territories.
Did Ubisoft Learn from the Failure of Ghost Recon: Breakpoint?
From the looks of it, Ubisoft has learned an important lesson from Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. For those who are out of the loop, they should know that was a highly anticipated Ghost Recon: Breakpoint shooter that ruined player immersive and the overall feel of the game by offering a limited number of weapons that are not unique.
