Battlefield 6 – Release Date Coming Sooner than Expected

Battlefield 6

We think it’s safe to say that Battlefield 5 was not a massive success. The game didn’t do well and to make things even worse, it competed directly against Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that included Warzone, the world’s most popular Batte Royale. Fortunately for fans of the Battlefield franchise, EA decided to do the wise thing and not force DICE to launch a new title in 2020. EA allowed the developers enough time to develop a next-generation game and according to a new statement, the game is scheduled to launch on “Holiday 20201”.

Next-Gen Battlefield 6 is Confirmed

Even though EA is not the most liked game publisher, we have to give it praise for allowing DICE to recover after Battlefield 5’s failure and work on a new title. DICE is not ready to release any information about the upcoming Battlefield title but luckily for us and other fans of the franchise, CEO Andrew Wilson revealed some vital information during EA’s November 2020 earnings call.

“DICE is creating our next Battlefield game with never before seen scale. The technical advancements of the new consoles are allowing the team to deliver a true next-gen vision for the franchise. We have hands-on testing underway internally, and the team’s been getting very positive feedback on the game as we’ve begun to engage our community. The next Battlefield is set to launch in holiday 2021, we’re excited to share a lot more about the game in the spring,” stated the CEO.

“We have rallied that entire studio around the development of Battlefield, specifically. We’ve given them an extra year of development,” Wilson said later in the call. “You’ll remember to ensure that they can, in fact, build a true next-gen vision around that game. DICE is one of the most talented studios on the planet, and we’ve been able to add leadership from our EA SPORTS business and David Rutter, who understands both live services and the rigor of development”.
