Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 – New Release Date and More Powerful Weapons

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s season 4 was scheduled to go live today, but instead, it was postponed for an undetermined period of time. The company said that in light of recent events, now it is not the time to launch updates for its company. Luckily, a bunch of new leaks have surfaced on Reddit.

Why Season 4 Was Delayed

As most of you might be aware by now, there are ongoing protests in the US and around the world. Activision is trying to show solidarity to the protestors by not launching the much-anticipated season 4 update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Mobile.

“While we all look forward to playing the new seasons of Modern Warfare, Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile, now is not the time. We are moving the launches of Modern Warfare Season 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 to later dates. Right now it’s time for those speaking up for equality, justice, and change to be seen and heard. We stand alongside you,” tweeted the company.

Datamining Leaks Confirm Two New Weapons

Even though we don’t have any official news on when we should expect the upcoming season to go live, we do have a pretty good idea of what to expect. Thanks to Reddit data miners, it was confirmed that season 4 will introduce two new weapons.

The weapons are the Galil assault rifle and a Vector submachine gun. We want to point out the fact that the submachine gun is not going to be called “Vector” and instead, it is dubbed as Fennec. According to rumors, the name Vector is coined by other FPS games and Activision would need to pay royalties to use it. Here is where the Fennec moniker comes in.

Final Words

It’s probably going to be at least a couple of weeks until season 4 goes live, but on the bright side of things, the developers now have more time to add the finishing touches. We also want to note that the upcoming season is expected to introduce none other than Captain Price himself as a playable operator.
