With Diablo 4 expected to launch in 2021, you would assume that Blizzard has its hands full. It seems like this might not be the case. According to the French news outlet ActuGaming, Blizzard is planning to launch a remastered version of the iconic Diablo 2. The game is going to be titled Diablo 2 Resurrected and it will launch in Q4 2020. Therefore, the game might drop during the holiday season.
Diablo 2 Resurrected to Launch Soon
The first thing that we want to mention about Diablo 2 Resurrected is that even though the news is based on a prediction made by ActuGaming, the French news outlet has a great track record of predicting Blizzard’s next moves. In fact, they were the ones to announce that Blizzard is secretly working on Overwatch 2, Diablo 4 and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, months before the game publisher confirmed the news.
Since Blizzard is looking to launch Diablo 2 Resurrected in Q4 2020, then we believe that the game publisher hopes to surprise the gaming industry with a gameplay trailer that shows off the new graphics of the iconic game. This is probably Blizzard’s way of making up for the big “Warcraft 3: Reforged” mess from a couple of months ago.
Vicarious Visions is Helping Out
If you are wondering how is Blizzard able to work on so many games, then you should know that Vicarious Visions is helping out. This is another developer studio that is known for creating popular games such as the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled.
Let’s hope that Blizzard learned its lesson from Warcraft 3: Reforged and that it will no longer mess everything up. The Diablo fanbase has already been wronged with the announcement of Diablo for smartphones and failing them again would be really bad for Blizzard.
