After months of waiting, iOS 14 is finally out of beta and has been made available for iPhones. The operating system update is rolling out via Apple’s official OTA (over the air) channels and therefore, we are advising all iPhone users to keep their devices connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. The update is automatically going to pop up in the notifications panel.
We know that not all iPhone users are keen about downloading operating system updates because they might slow down their iPhones, but luckily, this is not the case for iOS 14. Today we are going to check out the top features that iOS 14 brings to iPhones so that you can get an idea if it is worth downloading the update or not.
Top iOS 14 Features for iPhone
-
Picture in Picture Mode (PiP)
The biggest downside to using iPhones is the fact that they do not offer support for multitasking apps. This can be quite annoying, especially since Android users have been able to multitask for years now. Fortunately, things are about to change. iOS 14 introduces a PiP mode that makes it possible for iPhone fans to watch videos on one side of their screens while doing something entirely different on the other.
The PiP mode will automatically create a thumbnail image of a video that continues to play whenever users swipe to go back to the home screen while watching videos. Although, we do need to mention that this feature only works with supported apps such as Twitch and YouTube, for example.

Improved App Library
Getting access to the App Store is one of the best things about using iPhones, and there is no doubt about that. After all, the App Store is a place where you can find millions of useful apps and fun mobile games. Now, iOS 14 is making it easier to organize your App Library.
According to the patch notes, the native App Library will begin to automatically arrange your apps in folders based on their specific categories. The reasoning behind this feature is to make it easier for users to find their favorite apps and to ensure that the Home Screen doesn’t look like a mess.

New Widgets Design and Location
Another amazing thing about iPhones is the incredible number of widgets that you can access. Things are now going to get even better! For the first time ever, iPhone users will be able to place their widgets on the home screen. Widgets are currently limited to the Today View, but after downloading and installing iOS 14, this is no longer going to be a limitation.
We also want to mention that iOS 14 introduces a brand-new Smart Stack widget that is going to provide iPhone users with accurate information from multiple apps. For example, the Smart Stack widget will show you the weather widget after you check the calendar.
