Can you believe that it’s been four years since Nintendo Switch launched? Even though no one thought that Nintendo’s hybrid console will stand a chance against Xbox and PlayStation (which were dominating the market at the time), Nintendo proved to everyone that there’s still room for a new and innovative gaming console. Now, the tech giant is planning to launch the next generation of Nintendo Switch.
Next-Gen Nintendo Switch
Considering that Xbox One Series X and PlayStation 5 are already available in markets, it should come as no surprise to find out that Nintendo is working on the next-gen version of Switch. In fact, Bloomberg is reporting that the highly anticipated console will hit the markets in September or October. We have to mention that this is much sooner than expected.
Pricing and Launch Event
The upcoming console is expected to be priced higher than the current model that costs $299. We don’t have an official announcement about the pricing and we don’t expect to hear anything from Nintendo until the hybrid console launches. Although, we do know that the tech giant is planning to announce the exciting console ahead of the E3 conference that is scheduled on June 12th.
The first thing that comes to people’s minds when they hear that a new console is launching is the fact that it has to come with an exclusive title. The same way that PlayStation 5 launched with Demon Souls, Nintendo fans are expecting a game that will be available only for them.
Nintendo has a massive backlog of IPs (intellectual properties) and it won’t be difficult to find a title that people love. Maybe it will be a new entry into the Zelda series? Or another Mario and Luigi game? We will find out soon.
