The update is rolling out systematically and it aims to fix a major OnePlus 9 Pro design flaw. While the flagship smartphone features impressive hardware and unique features, it overheats quite easily. Fortunately, the new update fixes the overheating problem.

As previously mentioned, the new update is scheduled to see a worldwide release during the upcoming days. The first region to receive the update is India and the next ones are Europe and North America. Since the update is an OTA release, the only requirement to access it is to keep your smartphone connected to Wi-Fi.

We’ve identified the underlying reasons behind the reported increase in temperature and already begun pushing out OTA updates to optimize the overall device temperature and improve battery performance. So far, the initial feedback has been positive.
The first OTA (build number 126.96.36.199) was pushed out to our India users this week, and will be rolled out to North American and European devices by the end of this week. We’ll be following up with a second OTA to further improve the device temperature and battery in the coming weeks as well.
