As some of you might already know by now, PUBG Mobile is one of the world’s most popular mobile games with tens of millions of players playing 24/7. The mobile game is making headlines on our website today because Krafton, the studio in charge of PUBG Mobile, announced that it is planning to change the game’s name in India. PUBG Mobile is being rebranded as “Battlegrounds Mobile India”
Why Is Krafton Rebranding PUBG Mobile?
Considering the fact that PUBG is a household name and that millions of people know it, many people are wondering why would the developers take a chance with the marketing campaign and rebrand to Battlegrounds Mobile India. Well, it looks like this is because Krafton is not allowed to launch PUBG Mobile in India.
Launch Date
Krafton announced that it plans to host a series of in-game events at launch. That’s not all! Battlegrounds Mobile India will also receive access to special tournaments. Unfortunately, Krafton did not announce an official release date. The only thing that the developer said is that players will be presented with a pre-registration event soon.
Improved User Security and Privacy
Another important thing that we want to mention about Battlegrounds Mobile India is that Krafton is focusing on user security. The developer is teaming up with partners that specialize in data protection and user security. “This will ensure privacy rights are respected, and all data collection and storage will be in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in India and for players here,” Krafton said about its new partnership.
As we can see in the image featured above, Battlegrounds Mobile India will sport a redesigned logo. The logo is now splashed with the tricolor of the Indian flag. Nonetheless, let us know in the comments section what you think about the rebranding of PUBG Mobile in India.
