Samsung’s New Odyssey Gaming Monitors Launch Next Week

One of the things that Samsung does best (other than creating high-end smartphones) is designing large and featured-packed monitors. In fact, Samsung holds the title for being the number one gaming monitor manufacturer in the world, selling millions of units each year. Now, the South Korean based tech giant wants to take its gaming monitor lineup to the next level and introduce the much-anticipated odyssey monitors.

Samsung Odyssey G3 Monitors

The models included in the Odyssey lineup feature a flat-screen design and they range from 24 to 28 inches. The amazing thing about these gaming monitors is that they feature a hyper-real picture quality and a higher response level than the competition. This is an incredibly useful feature to have for gaming, especially in FPS (first-person-shooter) titles where being accurate and moving fast can make the difference between winning or losing.

The interesting thing about the new Odyssey monitors is that they are equipped with IPS technology. This is unusual because the previous models used QLED tech. Nonetheless, Samsung is still equipping them with HDMI 2.1 compatibility and 4K support at 144Hz. This is quite impressive. As previously mentioned, the gaming monitors are super fast. Samsung confirmed that they all feature a 1 millisecond response time. We also want to highlight that Samsung is equipping the monitors with AMD’s FreeSync premium features.

Launch Date and Pricing

The new Samsung Odyssey G3 monitors that range from 24 to 28 inch are scheduled to launch on July 1st. They will be available for purchase directly from Amazon. The price is $250 for the 27 inch models and $220 for the 24 inch models. While the gaming monitors might not be cheap, they are not the most expensive models on the market.
