Witcher 3 HD Upgrade is Closer Than You Think!

There are hundreds of amazing games out there, but there is one that many consider to be a masterpiece. I am talking about the famous Witcher 3 that gives players the chance to live out Geralt of Rivia’s adventures alongside iconic characters like Yennefer and Dandelion. Seven years after its release, a HD upgrade is coming to Witcher 3.

CD Projekt RED announced that Witcher will receive a HD upgrade in 2022. While the game looks amazing, it features seven-year-old graphics. The upgrade will introduce next-gen graphics for PC, PS5, and Xbox. If you already own a version of the game on any platform, the HD upgrade will be available to download for free. To make things even better, the update will include performance boosts and a much-anticipated DLC. Players will get Geralt’s costume that Henry Cavill wears in the Netflix show as a cosmetic skin. “We are hard at work on the next-gen version of Cyberpunk, scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2022, alongside another major update for all platforms. There is also ongoing work on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 and the Cyberpunk expansion” – CD Projekt RED.

As previously mentioned, the update is expected to arrive mid-year. Rumor has it that the developers are looking to release the update in May. The official CD Projekt Red twitter account even mentioned at some point that “they MAY have a surprise for us”. Leading people to believe that the highly anticipated update is arriving this Spring.

I also want to highlight that Witcher 4 is in the works. It’s going to take a couple more years until we get an official announcement but until then, we have this leaked information.

Is Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update Free?

If you already own a version of Witcher (PC, Xbox, Nintendo Switch or PlayStation), the next-gen update will be available to download for free.
